Primary Responsibility: Guide students in developing strong reading, writing, critical thinking, and geographic literacy skills within a Christ-centered learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Valid teaching license required (any state), Oklahoma license preferred.
- Detail oriented and ability to resolve conflicts.
- A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
- Ability to build relationships with families and students and create a dynamic environment where students find success.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 6th grade English Language Arts and Geography to pupils in a small (maximum 20 students) classroom setting using the curriculum provided by the school.
- Ability to integrate Christian perspective into the subject matter.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student with the identified objectives.
- Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress.
- Establish and maintain standards for student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Treat students with respect and dignity.
- Stimulate creativity and eagerness to learn.
- Collaborate with professional staff to assess and address students’ health, behavioral, and learning needs.
- Keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
