3 Year-Olds:

I cannot believe our school year is almost through! It's so amazing how quickly your kids have grown and matured in a matter of months. May is going to be a VERY busy month. On May 10th & 11th at 11 am we will have our Mother's Day Tea! Our classes are so excited to celebrate their moms during class time! On Monday, May 14th we have our Kids Day! This is a fun outside tub day for all the kids! (both preschool classes are welcome to attend!)! Our Preschool Blessing Day is on Wednesday, May 23rd at 11 am. This, too, is a combined class time and the kids will be receiving their "graduation" certificate!
During the three busy weeks we have left, we will be learning about Zoo Animals, Transportation, and Summertime! We are continuing to review our alphabet, numbers, colors and shapes! Remember that scissor time at home is a great way to help develop fine motor skills.
Thank you SO much for a fabulous school year! Ms. Jessica and I could not have done it without all of you!
Have a wonderful summer and please keep in touch!
Mrs. Lasiter

3 Year-Olds:

We are at the end of this school year, and what an amazing journey it has been. The children have grown by leaps and bounds over this year. I have enjoyed the privilege of getting to take part in this process, and have shared their/your excitement with each success along the way.
THANK YOU... to all of you wonderful parents and grandparents that took time out of your busy schedules to help with our class Easter egg hunts and parties (*as well as our other parties this school year). It's incredible folks like you that make these special events possible. The kids and I appreciate you!!!
Our class "Mother's Day Teas" will be Thursday, May 10th, (Tue/Thu class) and Friday, May 11th, (M/W/F class) at 11:00 a.m. If you are unable to attend; please invite a grandmother, aunt or other relative to attend in your place. The children have been working hard in preparation for this special day, and are VERY excited about honoring you at this special event.

Monday, May 14th, will be "Fun Day". There will be lots of activities, games and inflatables for the kids to enjoy. If your child is in the Tuesday/Thursday class, they are also invited to participate - as this is a school wide, one-day event.
Wednesday, May 23rd, is Graduation/Blessings Day. Be sure to mark your calendar for this special day. This is an event that you are not going to want to miss! Invite grandparents and other relatives to share in this special occasion honoring your child and their achievements as a graduate of Holy Trinity Christian School's preschool class.
More information regarding these and all end of the year events will be sent home with your child in the days ahead. So, keep an eye on those backpacks, and check your child's take-home folders regularly.
Thank you for your support this school year. I have enjoyed getting to know you and your child; and working with each of you towards making this a memorable time for them. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this special time in their life. Your child and family have been a huge blessing to me. I am going to miss you all! Have a WONDERFUL summer!

Best Wishes, Many Blessings & Gratefully Yours,

Erin Bowlby

Pre-Kindergarten-5 Day:

I can't believe another school year is almost over! We have had so much fun learning together. In April we were busy learning about spring and all the wonderful things that happen during this season of the year. We talked about weather rainbows and bugs. We even got to watch the life cycle of a butterfly first hand! We celebrated Easter and the wonderful gift of forgiveness Jesus gave us. Thank you to the parents who were able to help with and participate in the party!

During the month of May we will be reviewing numbers, letters, shapes, colors, etc. and learning more about plants and bugs. There is always a lot to do while getting ready for the end of the school year. We will be having Donuts for Dads, our Mother's Day Tea, Fun Day, celebrating summer Birthdays, and we will end the year with blessing day. Please keep an eye out for information about all of these special events.

I have chatted with most of you already but if you have any questions or concerns about your child's readiness for Kindergarten next year, please let me know so we can set up a time to talk. I have loved getting to know you and your child this year. Thank you for the opportunity to help them learn and grow.

God's Blessings,

Shari Yoder

Pre-Kindergarten-4 Day:

It is SO unbelievable to me that the school year is coming to a close! Every day with your children has been a blessing, as their wide-eyed wonder and gentle spirits touched me deeply. We will make the most of our last few weeks together. During the month of May, we will study seeds and plants, ¡°summer fun¡±, and review of skills. For Bible study, we will learn about Mary, Jesus¡¯ Mother, and her cousin, Elizabeth, and Ruth's devotion to her mother-in-law, Naomi ¨C all in honor of our own mothers for Mother's Day. A few dates for you to mark on your calendar: a Mother's Day Tea will be held in the classroom on Thursday, May 10 at 11 am. All mothers please plan to attend, as this is a very special time and your children are working hard to make it a memorable time for you both. Dads: don't feel left out, as we will be having a ¡°Donuts for Dad¡± time for you and your child before school: date to be announced. A school-wide ¡°Fun Day¡± is also being planned so be on the look-out for info coming for that event. Lastly, our ¡°Blessing Day¡± will be held on May 23 at 11am. Students will come at 9 am that day, as usual; parents to arrive for the ceremony at 11. More details on each event will be forthcoming.

Thank you all for an incredible year! May God bless you and your families with a safe and fun-filled summer!

Blessings,

Mrs. Cindy Ancik

Kindergarten:

The end of the year is approaching quickly! I want to say THANK YOU to all of my wonderful parents who have graciously given their time, and energy to make all of our class parties and special activities a memorable experience. We have had so much fun learning and growing together this year. I feel truly blessed to have watched all of these wonderful children grow and blossom into life-long learners and readers. They have all grown so much! In the month of May it is very important that you keep a close watch on your child's folder. This month is very busy as we wind up the school year. We will be having a special Mother's Day tea, Fun Day, Donuts for Dads, graduation, and even an end of the year ice cream party. So please, please make sure you check your child's folder daily! We don't want anyone missing out on all these exciting activities. This month in class we will be talking more about spring and planting flowers. We will also begin talking about and getting ready for summer. In math we will be reviewing adding, telling time, counting by 5's and 10's, and counting money. We will also continue learning how to subtract and tell time to the half hour. In Phonics we will continue to review all the letters of the alphabet. We will also be learning how to put letters together to make digraphs and blends which will help make reading even easier. Please remember to read daily! This time of year, it's always fun to sit outside and enjoy a good book together when the weather is nice. In our Bible Stories, we will be talking about Jesus in the days after His Ascension into Heaven. Your children have learned so much in our Bible Stories this year. I am so proud to hear them discuss what they remember, and what they want to know more about. I even see them from time to time applying what they are learning in the Bible Stories. Make sure you continue to ask your child what he/she is learning in our weekly Bible Stories. It amazes me what they remember from different stories.

Parents, thank you again for everything you have done this year. You are truly the backbone of our class, and you have all been amazing all year long. I will miss each and every one of my wonderful children and parents. If you have any questions about upcoming dates/activities please ask. I hope you have a wonderful month of May! Blessings to you all!!!!

Mrs. Cyr

Kindergarten:

It is hard to believe that we are in the last month of school now. It seems like we just started the school year. The children have grown so much as I look through pictures from the school year. Thank you so much for sharing your sweet child with me. It is truly an honor!

In May, we are going to be learning the digraphs of phonics: sh, th, ch. In Math, we are learning about subtraction and telling time. We will also review addition and begin adding larger numbers together. We will be doing some measuring and counting money also. In Bible Time, we will continue to learn about Jesus after his Ascension to heaven. We will be doing some Science projects in class. The children always love those!! Our themes for the month of May are growing and planting, Frogs, Space, Cinco de Mayo. The children continue to learn popcorn words and their bags get bigger and bigger. I'm so proud of them! Our phonics books are still getting more difficult and the children are keeping up with them--way to go! Remember to send the book back so they can read it to me again. Some dates coming up are Tuesday, May 8th: Donuts for Dad 8:00 am to 8:30. It is a come and go event. Friday, May 11th: Mother's Day Tea. We will have "tea" and a cookie and sing you a song. We also have some other special surprises for mom and dad on those days. Our Kindergarten Graduation is on May 24th at 6:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Sunday best is preferred for dress that night.

Love & Hugs,

Mrs. Fuller

1st Grade:

Is it possible that it's already May? I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! I have so enjoyed your children this year! I often brag to my friends about how great I've got it.super sweet, smart kids, fantastic parents. I'm truly Blessed! And I still get one more month with them, so here's what we'll be working on:

In Language Arts, we'll be reviewing the skills we've learned this year including contractions, compound words, punctuation marks (. ? ! " ), possessives, and other writing strategies.

In Math, we'll be strengthening our skills with fractions, measurement, graphing, and counting money, as well as learning about liquid measurement, geometric solids, and subtracting 2-digit numbers.

We will be learning more about our world in Science. We'll learn about natural resources and how we can protect them, as well as how our earth changes in many ways such as weather and seasons.

Our Bible Lessons will highlight God's merciful forgiveness despite our selfish sinfulness. We will focus on being humble servants to others as well as using our time, praise, money and talents to bring Glory to God. God's message of love and salvation is for ALL of us as it says in Romans 5:8.God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Now that is some great news!

2nd Grade:

I cannot believe it is May already! This year has truly flown by! The 2nd grade class did an incredible job with ITBS testing. Thank you parents for getting your students to school on time and having them eat a good breakfast. A big thank you to Barb Mason for being our proctor. We still have some learning to do in May, so please remember to continue to have your child to school on time and ready to learn. We are continuing our study of multiplication in Math to prepare us for third grade. We have completed our Social Studies book, so we are now studying about the great state of Oklahoma. We will be doing a little research in the computer lab to complete a book about Oklahoma we will be working on. In Science class we will be finishing up our book by learning about energy and force. We will continue to have literature circles. The students have truly enjoyed the books we have read and seem to be having a good time creating their response activities.

May is a very busy month around HTCS. Be sure to watch the calendar for the different activities and their times. Some important dates to remember are: May 4th which is the track meet in Ponca City, May 5th which is the Edmond Arts Festival, May 11th is the Mother's Day Tea, May 20th is Salute to the Stars, and May 24th is the last day of school. The students will be dismissed at noon on the 24th.

The 2nd grade class enjoyed our visit to the Oklahoma Science Museum and the planetarium. Thank you to all the parents that went with us and made it such an enjoyable experience. Also, a big CONGRATULATIONS to the 2nd grade class for winning the Guatemala School Supplies pizza party! Way to go!

I hope everyone has a safe, and enjoyable summer! Please make sure your child is reading everyday this summer. There are many amazing programs going on here at HTCS over the summer also. If you haven't signed up to attend one of the Camp Boomerang sessions, be sure to that soon! Don't forget to order your yearbook either! $10 is the price for priceless memories!

In Christ,

Nikki Young

3rd Grade:

WOW!!! April was really a busy month. We visited the National Cowboy Hall of Fame Western Heritage Museum and were so impressed. It would be hard to say what we enjoyed the most. It went along great with our studies of Oklahoma and the early days of our state. We also attended the one-room schoolhouse in Edmond and got to dress and act and learn as if we were in 1889. To top it all off we held the first annual Holy Trinity Land Run!!! We finished the month off by participating in the ITBS testing program. May is looking like it will be busy as well. May 2nd is the 3rd and 4th grade Science Fair, it is always fascinating to see what experiments the students come up with. In Social Studies the students have each selected a state to research and report on to the rest of the class. In Science we are studying plants and their parts. We are planting seeds and journaling their growth. In Religion we are learning about the Apostles and the early church. Math will find us trying to master long division. In Reading we will finish the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it has been a fun story and we have loved the rhymes of the Oompa-Loompas. Up coming events include May 4th Ponca City Track Meet, 8th Donuts for Dad, 11th Mothers Day Tea, 14th Fun Day, 16th Zoo trip, 20th Salute to the Stars, and the 24th LAST DAY! I want to take this opportunity to thank the greatest group of parents in the world. Thank you for the snacks during testing, all the help with the land run, and ALL of the help and support throughout the entire year. Thank you for sharing your most precious gift with me this year, I am truly blessed.

In His Way,

Mrs.Reusch

4th Grade:

It's hard to believe it is the last month of school. What great fun we have had together! I know we are all looking forward to summer break.

As we finish up all of our core subjects we will look back on a successful year. Several art projects and science experiments will top off our final month.

We have Mother's Day Tea coming up, Track and Field Day, Fun Day and our very special Salute to the Stars Banquet on Sunday evening May 20th.

It is appropriate that we end our year of Bible study with a missionary trip with Paul. As we leave for summer break we go home to rest and relax a little but also touch the lives of others with the words of the Gospel of Jesus.

Affectionately

Mrs. Mary Means
