He has served the congregations of St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Lakefield, Minnesota; St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, Minnesota; and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Onalaska, Wisconsin.  He has served as pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond, Oklahoma, since September of 1991.

Pastor Henke has been active in LWML, LLL, and district outreach work on various levels of responsibility in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma.    He served on the South Wisconsin District Board of Directors from 1989-1991. He also served on the Board of Evangelism and the Board of Stewardship in the South Wisconsin District.   While serving in South Wisconsin, he also served on the Mobile Meals Board and the Emergency Food Pantry for the Onalaska community.  Since moving to Oklahoma Pastor Henke has served as Circuit Counselor of the Oklahoma City Circuit from 1993-2006; as the Oklahoma District Convention Chairman in 2003; as Oklahoma District LWML Counselor from 2003-2010; and served as the Second Vice President of the Oklahoma District 2006-2009.  Pastor Henke is currently serving his second term as President of the Oklahoma District, an office to which he was elected in April 2009.

On April 20th, 1975, he married Patricia Gunderman from Fulda, Minnesota. They have one son, Jason, who lives in the Oklahoma City.  Patricia entered her heavenly rest in January of 2009.
